RefineAiLab
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 14, 2025
Last Updated: January 16, 2026
Erasly by RefineAiLab is designed with a privacy-first approach. This Privacy Policy applies to the Erasly iOS application (the “App”) and the refineailab.com website and related backend services (collectively, the “Service”). In this Policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to RefineAiLab.
This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, for what purposes, and for how long when you use the Service.
Our core principle is simple: we process only the minimum data necessary to provide AI-powered image editing, ensure service reliability, and comply with applicable laws.
1. Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, RefineAiLab acts as the data controller for the processing described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have questions or requests related to data protection, you may contact us at:
[email protected]
2. Accounts and Personal Data
The Service does not require account creation.
We do not collect or store:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- User profiles
- Social logins
Authentication, payments, and subscriptions are handled exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase.
Apple ID and Purchase Data
Apple provides us with limited technical information and purchase receipts associated with your Apple ID. We use this information only to:
- Verify active subscriptions
- Synchronize usage entitlements across devices
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate access
We:
- Do not have access to your Apple ID credentials
- Cannot contact you via Apple ID
- Do not create personal profiles linked to Apple identifiers
Apple independently processes Apple ID and payment data in accordance with Apple’s own Privacy Policy.
3. Image Processing
When you submit an image for object removal in the App:
- The selected image and user-created mask are transmitted to our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Images are processed using server-side generative AI inpainting
Image Retention
-
Images and masks are stored only temporarily, within a short operational window required for:
- Processing
- Limited retries in case of technical failures
- All image data is automatically deleted shortly after processing completes or fails
- We do not permanently store user images
Image Usage
We do not:
- Use images or masks for AI model training
- Use images for analytics, profiling, or advertising
- Share images with third parties for marketing purposes
4. Introductory Free Access and Usage Quotas
New users may receive one (1) complimentary AI processing request as an introductory experience.
This complimentary request:
- Is available once per Apple ID
- Does not renew
- Becomes unavailable after the first successful subscription purchase
Paid Subscriptions
- Usage quotas are determined by the active subscription plan
- Quotas are verified using Apple purchase receipts
- Entitlements are synchronized across devices signed in with the same Apple ID
Quota Accounting
- Only successful AI processing requests count toward quota
-
Requests that fail due to:
- Network errors
- Server errors
- Content moderation rejection
5. Content Moderation
All submitted images are screened by automated AI-based content moderation prior to processing.
Moderation exists to prevent processing of:
- Explicit or pornographic content
- Violent or illegal material
- Content involving minors in unsafe or exploitative contexts
If an image is rejected:
- It is not processed
- It is not retained
- It does not count toward usage quota
A rejection does not imply wrongdoing by the user.
6. Logs, Diagnostics, and Operational Data
We collect minimal, non-content operational metadata strictly for reliability, security, and support purposes.
This may include:
- Request timestamps
- Processing status and error codes
- Crash and diagnostic information
- Device model and operating system version
Some diagnostic data (such as crash reports) may be provided to us in anonymized or aggregated form by Apple as part of standard platform services.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Image contents or previews
- User communications
- Contacts
- Advertising identifiers
- Cross-app or cross-site tracking data
Retention Periods
- Operational logs: retained up to 30 days
- Aggregated, anonymized metrics: may be retained longer for service analysis
- Purchase receipts: retained only as long as necessary to validate subscriptions or resolve billing issues
7. Third-Party Services and Processing Locations
The Service relies on trusted third-party infrastructure providers to operate, including:
- Apple In-App Purchase and system services
- Secure cloud infrastructure for AI processing
These providers receive only the data strictly necessary to perform their services and are required to comply with applicable privacy and security standards.
Processing Locations and Safeguards
Image processing and operational services may occur in data centers located in the United States, the European Union, or other regions, depending on operational requirements and service availability.
Where required by law, appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent legal mechanisms — are applied to protect data transferred across borders.
8. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
The Service does not use:
- Advertising SDKs
- Advertising identifiers
- Cookies
- Cross-app or cross-site tracking
- Behavioral or targeted advertising
We do not sell, rent, or share user data for advertising purposes.
9. User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Request information about data processed in connection with your use of the Service
- Request deletion of applicable operational data
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities where legally applicable
Because the Service does not maintain user accounts or personal profiles, the amount of retrievable personal data is typically minimal.
Requests may require verification using a valid Apple purchase receipt.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transfers
- Secure system storage (such as Keychain) for sensitive on-device values
- Monitoring and abuse-prevention mechanisms to protect service integrity
Access may be restricted or blocked in cases of detected abuse or unsupported device environments to protect users and service stability.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect:
- New features
- Legal or regulatory changes
- Security or operational improvements
Updated versions are published on our website and within the App. Continued use of the Service after publication constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
